The Difficult Patient Machine is a machine programmed to respond to the laugh track of popular 90s sitcom Seinfeld Episode #139, Season 8, Episode 9 in which doctors refuse treatment to protagonist Elaine for a rash because she is perceived as a "difficult" patient. Each time the laugh track plays a servo motor mounted below a hole in the wall is activated to shove a test tube filled with hand sanitizer, from an assembly-line of test-tubes, through the hole. On the other side of the wall the tubes project from the hole and shatter on images of broken glass and goo printed on ceramic tiles.
